Behavioral Health Clinician

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide an integrated and coordinated system of care within the Primary Care Clinics that will identify and treat patients for mental health, substance abuse and other high risk behaviors.
  • Responsible for assisting in developing protocols and implementing them within the WHCC Primary Health Clinics.
  • Develop protocols for delivery and trainings for Primary Care physicians and other medical staff, including interns.
  • Perform mental status examinations, therapy and preventative health measures.
  • Discuss cases with Physician and other health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan.
  • Administer and recommend individual therapy or other forms of treatment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • Requires a Master’s degree in mental health or related field from an accredited university.
  • Current license as a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience.
  • Spanish speaking highly desired.

Location: WHCC

Certified Lactation Consultant

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct lactation services to pregnant and breastfeeding WIC participants in the clinics, by telephone, and during home visits.
  • Overseas the clinical components of the Breast Feeding Peer Counselor Program (BFPC).
  • Coordinates and assists in the training of peer counselors.
  • Assesses the need for hospital and or home visits and provides appropriate breastfeeding support as needed.
  • Provides in-services and trainings on breastfeeding to all WIC staff as needed.
  • Refers mothers, according to the WHCC-WIC protocols, to the WIC Nutritionist/RD, the mother’s physician or nurse, public health programs in the community and social service agencies as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant credential (IBCLC).
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in breastfeeding individual counseling and teaching classes.

Community Worker I Bilingual

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide community outreach activities, including presentations.
  • Provide patient education and include proper documentation.
  • Make follow up telephone calls and documentation.
  • Prepare written and oral reports on program activities.
  • Assist with counseling and health education classes.
  • All related duties necessary for quality patient care and program implementation.

Key Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year paid or volunteer experience in community work, health education or social services with a Spanish speaking population.

Confidential Payroll/Accounting Technician

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviews time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Verifies attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and posts information onto designated records.
  • Processes and issues employee paychecks and statements or earnings and deductions.
  • Uses payroll/accounting software to record, process, store and analyze information
  • Classify, record and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
  • Complies with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent with at least twelve (12) units of Accounting at the community college level or higher.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Payroll Technician. Accounts Payable experience a plus.

Counselor I

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interview clients for intake work-ups and social history.
  • Assume responsibility for a full caseload of clients with regularly scheduled counseling appointments.
  • Provide case management and individual counseling services to clients and family.
  • Collect and document submission of urine samples.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS counseling.
  • Responsible for providing substance abuse counseling and rehabilitation services under the direction of the Supervising Counselor.

Key Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED. Certificate in substance abuse counseling (CCAPP).
  • MINIMUM of one (1) year experience as a counselor or equivalent position in substance abuse recovery program.

Customer Relations Specialist-Bilingual

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Verify applications for enrollment and completes documentation of the same.
  • Informs patients of all fee codes regarding services, policies and procedures.
  • Determines eligibility and ability to pay.
  • Receives and routes patient problems, complaints and grievances related to the delivery of health care.
  • Prepares reports as directed by the Supervisor; assist in sorting, filing, batching, retrieving, logging and mailing documents related to department work.
  • Assists in outreach programs when financial screening or registration is required.
  • Cross-trains in other duties to provide support during absences, crisis situations or heavy workloads.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years (3-5) participating in the resolution of patient related problems, consumer grievances and patient eligibility through various programs.
  • Must be familiar with eClinical Work software system, eCW registration procedures and documentation of HMO eligibility.
  • Must be knowledgeable with federal guidelines governing HMO’s including Title XXIII, health facilities and referral agencies.
  • Fully fluent in English/Spanish.

Degreed Nutritionist

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Enrolls and certifies high risk WIC participants in a timely manner and low-risk participants as needed.
  • Conducts in-depth high-to-complex nutritional assessments of participants identified with level 3 and/or 4 risks.
  • Evaluates dietary intakes, reviews appropriate medical, clinical, and health information for determining risk level and provides nutrition interventions that correspond to nutrition conditions.
  • Develops high risk nutrition care plan for nutritional improvement and documents in the Individual Nutrition Care Plan (INEP) in the Integrated State Information System (ISIS) computer system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition related field required. Master’s degree in a nutrition related field or Public Health preferred.
  • Must have at least (1) year’s work experience in the field of food nutrition and/or dietetics. Must have at least (1) year’s work experience in nutrition and breastfeeding dealing with individual counseling and teaching a class.

Dental Assistant

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up equipment.
  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment.
  • Under the direction of the dentist provide dental services that require his/her technical training, with the end result of increased production and patient satisfaction.
  • Keep accurate records of patient visits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and/or GED required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a dental assistant; completion of a recognized curriculum for dental assistants.
  • Must possess a California radiation safety certificate.
  • PC literate within a Windows based environment with the ability to accurately review and update patient records via an electronic health record system (eCW).
  • Must have current X-ray license and CPR card.

Dentist

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients and determines dental care necessity.
  • Diagnose and treats diseases, injuries, malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures.
  • Administers local anesthetics and treats infections and diseases of the teeth, jaw, and gums.
  • Accepts dental emergencies and administers post-operative treatment.
  • Provides care to patients while meeting OSHA, CDC and other regulatory guidelines.

Key Requirements:

  • Graduated from an accredited dental school with a DDS or DMD.
  • Current California Dental license, DEA certificate, and current CPR card.
  • Minimum five years of experience in the practice of dentistry.

Driver-Patient Transportation

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Makes trips to and from medical centers to deliver and pick-up patients, equipment and or supplies.
  • Maintains records on patients transported and prepares reports.
  • Inspects vehicles daily to insure that the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
  • Assists patients in boarding and or departing vehicles.
  • Reports vehicles in need of service or repair.
  • May transport WHS personnel and visitors.

  • Valid California Class B driver’s license with passenger endorsement.
  • Valid City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation driver’s permit.

Intake Assessment Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pre-registration, clinical assessment and verify eligibility. Supervise and complete the intake of patients into the programs and manage follow ups.
  • Assign, register and process clients through all phases with County agencies, such as DPSS and other entities. Assist clients with forms, applications and other paperwork required by agencies and service organizations. Assist and prepare reports for various regulatory agencies and internal departments.
  • Document all patient contact in the appropriate electronic health record system.
  • Attend and participate with meetings as requested/required with county funding sources and other community stakeholders.
  • Supervise the maintenance of admission records on clients enrolled in outpatient and inpatient programs.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services preferred.
  • Certified or Registered Substance Abuse Counselor (with DHCS approved certifying organization).

LVN Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all phases of the occupational health clinical program under the direction of the EHS RN Manager and/or Director of Nursing.
  • Facilitates the occupational health clinic activities with the other services offered in the entire occupation health program.
  • Generates monthly statistical reports and assists with epidemiological investigative reports to be presented to the EHS/IC RN Manager and Director of Nursing.
  • Communicates professionally with employees at all levels of the organization; able to work well during high stress situations.
  • Assist with staff development/education activities.
  • Travel and assist at satellite sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • A Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of California is required. Associates degree in public health or health care preferred.
  • Working knowledge of direct patient care methods and practices in a community clinic setting.
  • General computer skills at an intermediate level in MS Office programs (e.g. Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) and routine clerical skills (e.g., data entry, filing, completing forms, setting up paper charts, scanning, faxing) are essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

Manager of Nutrition Services

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works in close collaboration with the Associate Directors of Quality Improvement and Operations to determine the training needs of all the WIC program staff, as it relates to the program nutrition standards.
  • Develops, plans, implements and evaluates nutrition education policies for WIC program staff to achieve health and education goals.
  • Provides oversight and technical assistance to RD’s and Degreed Nutritionists as it relates to high risk operations and activities.
  • Develops high risk dietitian schedules to ensure adequate coverage at each WIC location.
  • Consults with physicians on nutrition and breastfeeding related issues to assure proper care and compliance with state WIC policies and procedures.
  • Attends in-services, trainings, meetings, conferences and other continuing education sessions as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition or Health Education related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian and have at least three (3) years’ experience in a related field.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the areas of normal and therapeutic nutrition as it relates to pregnancy, lactation and infant/child nutrition.

Medical Assistant-Bilingual

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive medical assistant patient care as part of a medical team to support departments as needed.
  • Accurately input data into electronic health record system.
  • Ensure patient rooms are clean and adequately prepared for use.

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Completion of a State approved program for medical assistants.
  • Back and Front Office experience.
  • Must be able to speak and write in Spanish/English fluently.

Nurse Practitioner

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions.
  • Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient’s condition,
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
  • Discuss cases with physician and other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program and certification by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • A license to practice nursing in California.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in primary health care setting.
  • Familiarity with patient care.
  • Good verbal communication.

Nutrition Assistant II-Bilingual

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach monthly nutrition health education and breastfeeding classes.
  • Perform basic or routine (low-to-moderate) individual nutrition education intervention according to clients nutritional needs.
  • Record summary of pertinent nutritional information using standardized format on the Integrated Statewide Information System (ISIS).
  • Enroll, disqualify, and certify WIC eligibility for participants on therapy program via the ISIS system.
  • Provide income, residence, nutrition and category screenings.
  • Participate in outreach activities, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more college courses in basic nutrition, food service dietetic and/or health.
  • Must be certified WIC Nutrition Assistant with one (1) year as a Nutrition Assistant I or equivalent health related experience.
  • Must be able to speak and write in Spanish/English fluently.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Prevention Specialist II with the After-School curriculum, activities and recreational outings.
  • Empower youth to become more aware and care about their environment/community.
  • May act as a liaison between the youth in community and external agencies by distributing information materials and/or engage community agencies to empower or provide leadership opportunities for youth.
  • Provides leadership and direction for Peer Advocates.
  • Attend and participate in staff, community, professional development trainings and any other program related meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be between the ages of 18-25.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working with youth.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
