**The LUMPKIN HOUSE IS CURRENTLY UNDER RENOVATION**

The Lumpkin House is a Recovery Bridge Housing/Sober Living facility for women. Most who enter this program have recently completed inpatient substance abuse treatment.

Lumpkin House serves women and their children in South Los Angeles — including the communities of Athens, Harbor Gateway North, and Watts. These communities have among the highest morbidity and mortality rates in Los Angeles County, and include Los Angeles County’s Service Planning Area (SPA) 6. We know that Recovery Bridge Housing (RBH), and residing in a safe and stable living environment, is often critical to achieve and maintain recovery from SUDs. Research shows that SUD treatment outcomes are better for individuals experiencing homelessness, particularly chronic homelessness when they are stably housed.

Of the individuals who come to us through inpatient treatment programs, around 70% have recently experienced homelessness and 75% have previous justice-system involvement. Lumpkin House helps mitigate the risk of patients reentering homelessness or the justice system after their in-patient treatment. It serves as a respite and reentry residence so that women and their children can have a place to rebuild their lives.
